Alhamdu-Lillah, all praise is due to Allah SWT God Almighty who has blessed this Jamaat with a progressive Madrassah for the last ten years. The Madrassah has faced considerable challenges throughout the years ranging from a lack of teachers, volunteers and students. However, Allah SWT has always sent help at the right time and as such we have grown from strength to strength Alhamdu-Lillah.
For the last 5 years weve been blessed each year with about 75 students, seven teachers and few volunteers. Over the last ten years over 20 students have progressed into reading Quran in Arabic. At least seven students will graduate to Quran next year and several more the following year Insha Allah (God Willing).
Our biggest challenge which slows the timely progress of our students continues to be parental involvement and coaching at home. My dear friends, no matter how had we try to teach your children this great way of life called Islam, if you are not making the necessary time to review, reinforce and practice what they learn here at home, progress will be minimal and you will have no one to blame but yourselves.
We make ti me for our children when it comes to academic studies why cant we make time for their Islamic studies? Which do you think will be of more value to us all on the day of Judgment? Our children are our responsibility and we will have to answer for their Islamic upbringing or lack thereof on the Day of Judgment. I urge all parents with children five years or older to bring them to the Madrassah and plan to spend more time with them praying and reviewing all their work.
May Allah SWT continue to assist us in our effort to teach our children the basics of Islam, to read Arabic and recite Quran and to learn more about the life of the greatest man to ever walk this earth Prophet Muhammad (SAW). May He bless us with the ability to move forward with urgency and motivation to teach our children Islam, Ameen.
I would like to thank the students, teachers, assistants and the parents who prepare and bring snacks and meals, May Allah God Almighty reward us all generously in this life and in the hereafter for all our efforts, Ameen.
